These striking black pieces come from a newer carbon-rich deposit in Colombia. Although widely sold as “Colombian Shungite,” it is not the same material as the classic Russian shungite from Karelia. Instead, it’s a naturally occurring Colombian carbon stone with its own structure, appearance, and grounding feel.

Also known locally as Raquirite.

Many pieces from this deposit show a natural rainbow iridescence when the light hits the surface — a thin, naturally formed film created during the stone’s formation. This gives the stone an unusual, oil-slick shimmer while still keeping that deeply grounding black body colour.
